USCG certified Captain Todd Black is the owner and operator of Black Velvet Charters. Captain Todd was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. He began fishing the waterways of Cocodrie, LA as a young boy with his dad and the original owner of the boat, "The Black Velvet". Captain Todd's favorite fish to catch are Big Trout on topwater and mangrove snapper. Todd is the 2014 Star tournament winner in the Mangrove snapper division and briefly held the State Record Mangrove Snapper in 2014.
USCG certified Captain Branson Marks fell in love with fishing as soon as he could hold a rod and reel. Branson is the son of Pro Bass fisherman Paul Marks. After graduating from college, Branson became a USCG certified charter boat captain to follow his love of fishing.

Inshore trips can accommodate up to 4 anglers. The price of the trip does not include bait, fuel, ice, or fish cleaning. We provide all rods and reels. Just grab your beverages, fishing license, and sunscreen and you'll be ready to go.
Offshore trips can accommodate up to 6 anglers.

Once you've booked your trip you will receive an email confirmation. If you need to cancel your trip please let us know 72 hours in advance.
